Abington Hospital

Question,
I have not heard Abington Hospital Security on there frequency lately, does anyone Montco area know if they have changed and or have gone DMR?
I know Jefferson has taken over and they have changed the 3 ARIA hospitals from analog to DMR and changed the security frequencies.
If so can you send it my way !

My Local Transit System the Bangor community connector in Bangor Maine has a digital frequency
Here’s there Digital Channel 1 frequency it’s 152.945 DMR slot 1 color 1 talkgroup 7501 which I can pick them up on my whistler TRX1 digital scanner

As The community connector Bangor Maine both has digital and analog channels
The Bangor Community connector’s analog channel 2 frequency is 153.965 FM DCS PL114

And also The island Explorer In Trenton Maine has a digital frequency is 451.450...

CARMA Website going offline

The CARMA website at www.carmachicago.com will be going offline soon. The site just does not generate enough hits to justify its existence any longer. We are letting the domain registration lapse and once that happens will remove it from our servers.

We will maintain the CARMA io Groups and Facebook pages, there is much more activity there.

The CARMA Website has been a lot of work and a lot of fun but its time is over.

tips on programming hp1

Looking to simply program a dozen air show freqs into this thing, haven't been able to figure out how to do so. Have it connected to computer, when I click read from scanner up pops a box that says micro sd, and the ok box is greyed out, so I have no idea how to proceed here any tips appreciated.

edit: Ok so I tried mass storage and was able to read from scanner, now I'm trying to figure out how/if I can enter individual freqs
edit 2: have progressed to creating a new fav list, but so far...

Mototrbo CPS install error

I'm new to the whole mototrbo thing but normally I have no issue installing Motorola software however this mototrbo software keeps giving the error "Motorola communication utility operation failed" and im not sure about this any info will greatly help

I'm having a debate with someone else over which radio behavior is better for responder safety.
A portable radio that powers off when the voltage is low so that the radio will perform to spec or a portable that extends usage time by cutting output power.
Please answer the poll question.

Coax Loss

I am NOT trying to create a controversy or anything like that, but I am confused by what a constantly read here about antenna coax losses. It is understanding that losses published are usually for 100 feet lengths on the particular coax.

Question (1): Are these "losses" for reception or transmission? These are NOT simply resistive loss of the center conductor.

Question (2): Are the "losses" given even decernable to the human ear? Would you even notice a difference...

Okay,... Here are the systems I need new data on folks... The ERS-OCI TRBOconnect site there... We have the CC, and 3 of the freqs mapped out. There are 3 more at least for that site. The Cummins TRS if its still online should be an TRBO system now. There is also an UHF SMR that was LTR and only 1 of its freqs was ever mapped... That system most likely is now an TRBO system also, and has many more freqs than just the 1 for there, as well as the other site...

Hello,

Am in my 80's now, and I admit I miss many of the nuances, so please bear with me a bit.
Received a new Uniden SDS 200 as a present.

Many, many years ago I had a 996, and I bought Butel software for it.
I remembered that I liked it a lot better than sentinel.

So, I bought it for this new scanner. Butel says use RC536 for this new Scanner.
Something might have changed, or it's me now, but I am having a devil of a time with it.

Would sure appreciate some help, and hand holding, to...

I currently have the btech 50x2. It works just fine. I’m thinking of getting a better quality unit as the btech controls are weird at times... what dual band mobile radio would you recommend?

I’m also thinking of getting one that can RX/TX on more than just 2m and 70cm. What would you recommend for 2m and 70cm? And what one that can RX/TX on more than the typical. Like 2m 70cm 6m 10m....

Antenna in trunk

Hi all,

I am looking into putting a mobile rig in my car. I have a Hyundai with a hatchback which makes antenna mounting difficult. I wanted to do an nmo lip mount, however that will not work on a hatchback: I do not want to drill holes in the car, and I am not a fan of the bulkiness and...not so sturdiness... of magnet mounts. Anyways, what would happen if I were to put a 2 meter quarter wave antenna inside the hatchback trunk? I understand that it would be pretty detrimental towards all...

State Police

I’ve been experiencing reception (well lack thereof) problems listening to the State Police ever since they switched over to the CLMRN. On the old system I could pick them up at work in Danbury with no issues. After the change-over I have all but lost them completely in Danbury. I’m using a BCD436HP and have tried several different antennas with no luck. Firmware is up-to-date. I get them just fine at home and almost everywhere else but there’s absolutely nothing in Danbury. Obviously they...
